Hello Trainzers from Spain

A friend has updated their PC with a new Video Card, as shown in the thread title for playing Trainz.

But he didn't know how to optimize it for TS2010, please, do you have a basic configuration that is valid for this Video Card (nVidia GForce GTX590)?

I've been modifying some parameters, but no noticeable changes from the default settings.

I'm writing from him, because he didn't know english.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Manuel

I run TS2010 with a GTX 570 card at 1024 x 768 res and antialiasing x 4 on a 24" monitor. I run with sliders pretty much wide open and experience no slowdown problems. I don't tweak nuthin'!
The GTX 590 is a beefier card; about 20% more powerfull. Requires a 750w PSU to safely run one with some power left for other goodies.
These cards are a bit of overkill for Trainz.
From what I've read here on the Forums, Trainz is quite cpu dependent.
I run on an i7 overcloclocked to 3.99 GHz. (and BIG cooling fan)
No problems!

This is good to know, I have thought about buying the 570, as it seems to be in the sweet spot for cards right now. I currently use a GeForce 8800, and usually wait until there is a wide enough performance advantage until buying a new card.

Manweb, your freind has a good rig. He should have no problems running Trainz. I see he has a 900 w psu. That's good as he has plenty of room for upgrades and add ons. I Have a 1000w psu as at one time I pondering running 2 GTX 570's in SLI. Dumped that notion months ago, as I don't run anything that could take advantage of it except maybe FS10. Trainz doesn't gain anything with SLI, from what I've read.
Euphod, over at the Digital Storm site, (where I bought my computer from) the GTX 570 is being touted as the card with the most bang for the buck, as far as high end cards go. It's nearly as powerful as the GTX 590, but at a significantly lower price. I am very happy with mine, which I've had for about 11 months, now. An Intell i7 cpu combined with a GTX 570 gpu seems to handle anything I throw at it. From what I've read, an i7 can be safely overclocked to about 4 GHz with no issues. Just make sure it's got sufficient cooling. Iam also running the Windows7 64 Home edition OS. I'm very pleased with this OS, after fighting with Win XP for years. No issues with it at all.

NVIDEA GTX 590

Hi Steam.
I am the friend of Manuel I always have my computer updated floor because I use many hours to create objects.
And I ba good team I have no problem quri only thing to know is if the gtx 590 NVIDEA you could get more and better performance as the team I ride it as I like whenever I do one and as for the cooling is no problem is well chilled.
What happens is that the Video Card is configured well by default as the last driver and I wanted to set it as the other to give me more performance or the maximum possible.
What happened was that the 590gtx NVIDEA brings so many resources that I want to get to play anything without saver and can damage it so wonder if you know how to handle make better target for TRS.
Thanks a greeting Juan lu_nabuny.

As far as I kow, there are no tweaks to apply to the card. It's more gpu than Trains will ever use.
Configure the card on the monitor settings page for best performance on your system.
Personally, I don't reccomend over clocking the gpu. It may lead to shorter card life, and you certainly spent a pretty penny for that card.
