Help with getting rid of foreign content in 2009

The ratings system would be fine if every download wasn't set to 5 stars by default. Favorites uses the 5 star setting and this is how Railyard sets favorites and is also what decides can be seen in the routes and sessions menu. It also has a significant effect on the routes menu being ready for you to use. More favorites slower response.

I should be the one to decide what should be favorite on my Trainz, no-one else.
So, because a few people couldn't find assets in Surveyor/Driver because the documentation didn't enlighten them, we now have a useful feature that has been bastardised to the point of creating rail rage in me.

Incidentally, you can select a region in both the Content Manager search function and also in Surveyor Content Search Filter. In both cases you click on the + sign and select region then from the drop down menu select country. All we need to do now is educate creators to set category-region to reflect where the asset is located not where they live. Even so it is a good jumping off spot.

It's not much effort to select multiple objects in CM and change all their ratings at once. One way is to open the dependencies of your favorite routes in a separate tab, select all those objects and give them a unique rating. Then when working on a new route, you could filter on that rating and only see the objects you like. The same thing could be done with keywords with the advantage that you have a virtual unlimited number of combinations to choose from. One object can have multiple keywords so it can be part of many filter groups, unlike ratings which have a limited range. Just remember to save the keyword list so that it can be re-applied if they get erased. Keywords in the config files are permanent attributes of an object but those applied via CM are not.

So worthless post... Who actually cares how many trains there are? The most, is the better. Keep in mind when I first installed Trainz there was only Russian content, but I didn't accept it to be in that way.

I don't see how the original question is a "worthless post". The rest of the off topic crap written here is worthless.

But how you say someone asking for help is "worthless", is beyond me.

IKB.

likewise, I'm sure
Who actually cares how many trains there are?
Some do

Only Russian content??? Doesn't even sound like a real Trainz instal. Did Trainz ever have such localized versions with such limited content? How about registering it so we can all see what it is?

To avoid explaining everything again, here is the answer to this unusual trainz copy I have. It's still not clear wether it's official or pirated. http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?85189-sound-problem-Moscow-metro-dynamic

Have you tried to register it ?
Did it come with a serial number ? (AFAIK all 'Trainz' products have a serial No. )
Can you access the dls & download content ?

If there is no serial No. it is highly likely that it is a "pirate" version.

As I mentioned in the thread, there was no serial number as it was given out by metro employees.

Maybe they have serial numbers for all of the products, who knows.
