Offends by example
I recently got some drivable lotus esprits from the DLS for TRS 2010.. They only go 100 MPH and I want them to go faster.. Can somebody plz explain to me how to increase the top speed in the enginespec or how to increase the top speed period?

Thanks,
Enzo1

This comes up so often there must be a bunch of posts describing how to do it. I'll grant you the current search function is pathetic.

This is for kind engine enginespecs.

For dcc mode you edit the maxspeed tag in the motor container. Tag value is speed in m/s. Conversion is 1 mph = 0.4470 m/s.

For cab mode you edit the speed, tractive force pairs in the notch containers of the throttle-power container. Value pairs are speed in m/s and force in kN.

Good advice RPearson, I will try it for an old ex USSR loco which only make it to 40 km/h.

But, even if the train can reach 300 mph, keep in mind that you have to comply with the track limits to avoid derailment. While I was testing my transsiberian route I left Moscow around 12:20, then I derailed 16:47 around a small village in the countryside. For only 9 km/h excess speed. Setting the derailment mode to none, didn't help.

Really? What settings have you set? My transiberian train always derail at this point some hours from Moscow at a speed of 90 km/h (maximum track speed should be 120).

Я надеюсь, что это означает право. Сорвать может происходить из-за переключатель не установлен на правильную дорогу, я думаю, в редких случаях, когда сорвать установлен в реальном будет сорвать на поворотах, как настоящий поезд будет делать.
I hope that helps

Beattie, just out of interest, have you got your forum language settings correct? I'm not familliar with that language in this area of the forums.

well shane I thought I could help him out by saying it in russian. However I think I will stick to english as I have no idea if it translated correctly.

Well, thank you for your time trying to translate it to Russian. And again, I'm a girl, not a he... I suppose most of the train people are men.

There were no switches at the area, just a curve, and when the train pass it falls down to the forest. While inspecting the area I found a piece of track which was slightly lower than the track it was connecting to (it even looked like they were separated a bit). Problem is solved by slowing down to less than 30 km/h at this area. :)

By the way, how does your PC handle with a speed of 786 mph? Imagine the loading time stutter :o
