help trees all red what happened?

Welcome to the forums, TRAINPETER1.
Red assets in Content Manager usually indicates that they are faulty.
In the case of some SpeedTrees and other assets, the version number and build is important.
For example, the SpeedTrees from TS2012 won't work in T:ANE as T:ANE and TRS2019 both use a later version.

It's also possible that these trees are Built-ins from T:ANE that haven't been ported over to TRS2019 yet.
In which case, you'll need to be patient, but these will eventually be made available to TRS2019 owners.

Suggest run the 'Faulty' filter in Content Manager and then check the Errors and Warnings shown in some of these 'red' assets to see what error messages come up.
It may be that you'll need to redownload or replace/ update some of these assets with similar, more up to date versions of the same tree type.

Welcome to the forums, Peter.

There are some things to check in Content Manager:

1) You are logged into Trainz in case some of these assets are DLC.

2) They are not faulty.

3) Not missing dependencies - can be related to No. 1

For faulty assets:

Right click and view errors and warnings. This will sometimes "reset" the warnings for the built-in assets.

Using Revert to Original also works for built-in assets - right-click and choose that from the list.

For missing assets not part of DLC, try downloading from the DLS by right-clicking and choosing download. I also recommend using this to view dependencies and downloading that way because sometimes this one download may affect a bunch of assets and fix a lot at once and this will show you which thing is missing.

And finally, if these are older Speed Trees from TS12, they will not work. V5 trees had no upgrade path to V6, thanks to IDV so we're stuck manually replacing faulty trees on our routes.

All else fails, run a database repair. The option is found under the Developer menu item.

Thanks PC_Ace - I was thinking that we'd moved into Autumn so the leaves were changing :)
(That might be the answer yet...)

That thought crossed my mind as well when I posted my similar post concurrently with PC_Ace who beat me by a few seconds. We're off to the races!

THANKS everyone ..this was all a default 2019 install nothing else.... how could this happen? all textures were normal at first then days later it happened! I have TANE also …..

Are you meaning in driver or surveyor or in Content Manager?

First, let's clarify whether it is the appearance of the trees that has changed in-game - or whether it is the name of the asset that has turned red in pick lists and in Content Manager.
If the latter, I recommend running a database repair to see if that resolves the issue.
If it is in-game, change the season (month) in QuickDrive - or in the Session Edit Environment settings to see changes in the foliage colour!

still red

no faulty things exist... only in game all grass is red and most tree foliage is red .... but again in content manager nothing is wrong or shown in red.... my textures got messed up somehow yet I never installed anything new.... onlly the C&O and the Kickstarter routes I have tried and they both got contaminated somewhow.

but I don't want to uninstall the whole program

BINGO!

It's related to seasonal assets, which means the calendar thinks that it's now autumn so the trees have changed color from summertime green to autumn foliage colors.

You can edit the sessions and adjust the season to summertime if you wish:

When you save, you'll have your own session with the new settings.

changing season doesn't help

changing the date or time dial doesn't help, the trees seem like they are changing a little but mostly red still and grass stays red..... you'd think someone else would have this too?

Select a route that has seasonal textures/ vegetation (such as Kickstarter County, C&O Hinton or Season Town).
Choose View Sessions; then QuickDrive.
When the scenario opens up, note which Month of the Year applies by default.
Select a scene that includes plenty of trees. Then open up the (Environment tab of the QuickDrive dialog box - in T:ANE) or Session Options menu item under the Window Menu list (top left menu bar - in TRS2019).
Go down to 'World Time' or the Calendar control and change the month and seasons to reveal the Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer colours for your seasonal trees.
If you're above the snowline, you might also see snow-covered terrain and assets.

Not sure about the red grass you're mentioning above...
Sounds like a problem we used to have with old VGA CRT monitors when one of the RGB wires or pins came loose and upset the colour gamut onscreen!

It's possible to replicate that same effect, however, if you've been adjusting the Sunlight and Ambient RGB values on the setting panes in the Edit Environment dialog in Session Edit mode, if you switch the Red dial right up and the other two dials right back...

I'm sure you haven't gone anywhere near them, have you?! ;)

still stuck with red trees , bushes and locomotive knobs

even after complete reinstall my "distant" trees are still red (glow at night) and most grass textures are red or mostly, and it all glows at night.... any more ideas? this is most dissapointing I've heard so little on this and I am the only one that's ever had this.... I do have TANE installed as well and this problem started it seemed around whatever the game thinks is fall and no matter if I change seasons by editing the surveror route edit / or in game on the driver time and date wheel, they stay red.

thanks for any help . grrrrrrrrr

Peter,

Reinstalling won't fix this. These trees are known as seaonal trees, which means they will change their foliage according to the time of year. Springtime may bring lighter colors, blossoms, and fewer leaves. Summer means dark green foliage, the fall means the trees will be red, brown, yellow, and orange, and the winter means the branches will be bare.

In Trainz the seasons change right on the calendar date so September means automatic changeover to fall, meaning, your trees will turn red and orange, or some other color found in the fall depending upon the species.

This can be adjusted by changing the date in the session. There are two ways to do this, but the easiest in TRS19 is to change it while in Driver. Click on the Session settings, I think it's the square icon and not the gear - I'm going from memory and I might be mistaken. You can adjust the date and time in there at any rate. Change the date to an earlier date such as July 2nd and watch what happens to the trees.

The other way, which is more permanent is to edit the session its self and create a new one for you to run, but I think just doing the quick, on the fly, change will suit you fine right now. Making the change in the Route editor, as opposed to editing the session, will not make the permanent. The other thing too is if these are built-in routes, or sessions created by others, making any kind of change will create a new version under your ID. If you have changed the season settings in a built-in session, ensure you are running that session and not the built-in one.
