Thank,s for all the info about Trainz.Most of members who participate on Trainz forum are most knowledgeable about how,where and just about how to add more
routes and navigate not only all the in and out,s of Trainz website but some of the info that ME dont even know where to begin. I owe TR09 TR10,done most of routes,enjoyed.My question,where inexperienced start from,any DUMMIES/IDIOTS books written on subject,"HOW TO NOT ONLY RIDE RAILS BUT STEP BY STEP TO UNDERSTAND HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND ON ,ON.I WOULD SETRTANTLY BUY THE BOOK IF THERE IS ANY OUT THERE,SO FAR I HAVE NOT FOUND IT ANY.My personal opinion if TRAINZ to be around for along time ,and I Hope they will,new inexperienced members at least should have a option and think Trainz obligation to offer for as an option a book on HOW TO DO TRAINZ NO MATTER WHAT VERSION ONE STARTED WITH.

Download/Save to your PC Downloads folder, then double click on the CDP files individually, and they will open up in the CM, select "Open For Edit" and you highlight by "Select All" and "Commit" them.

Sometimes an asset is faulty or has typo errors in its config file, that must be fixed in order for it to work.

When laying track the keyboard Hold/Shift key will stop track from clicking like magnets.

Your Trainzoptions file should include the lines -surveyorfov=55 , -freeintcam , -intro=disable

I can help tutor anyone with laying gradients, curves, track spacing, turnouts, metric measurement, spline point heights, and making parallel straight tracks.

Welcome aboard! I'm not aware of any books written for Trainz, but there are a number of excellent on-line resources. For a start I's check out the Trainz Wiki (http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Trainz) and the Trainz Resources Directory (http://trainzresources.com/directory/). Both of these have links to a wide variety of tutorials from beginner to failrly advanced.

The Trainz Resources Directory is apparently down right now for maintenance.

I'm sorry, but there isn't a "BOOK" out there that could help you. I realize there are books and even magazines on Flight Simulator, but no one has attempted to actually write a book explaining Trainz. Your best bet would be to become familiar with these forums and read some of the tutorials offered. You could also use the "Search" function to help you answer questions.

Sometimes the best way to learn is to have a play with the Trainz programme and see what it can do, if your not sure about something then ask here, and one of the many forum friends on here will gladly help you solve the problem your having...

Other ways to learn is to view YouTube videos, some are basic videos and only give you a brief overview of what Trainz can do, with a load of pointless music in the background...

It's just a shame there are not many of these type of tutorials around, only the pointless music ones which tell you nothing.

Have fun.
Experience comes from using Trainz, so get started using it.
You can learn a lot by playing the tutorials that come with the program that are available on the different routes, just dig around a little bit for them.
I have experiance since July 2009, so I know what I'm saying.
Also, here are some great sites that you might want to know about.

kurachka: Welcome..I've been reading this forum and you getting good advice from the guys..But one thing to remember there is nothing like practical pratice..Don't be afraid to get an empty baseboard try different things, learn what the tools can do you might be surprised..:wave: :wave:
