So I saved my route, exited, it asked me to save again and I hit "don't save". I deleted and extra copy trainz made of the route, then I reopened the other copy, and my progress is back to where it was 3 hours ago! (Its done this twice one two routes) I've been saving my route every 5m. I cant understand why it would do that. Can I still recover the other copy or get my work back?
Thanks

Yes, you can recover the route.

Check the backups folder located where your Trainz data is located.

Within the backups folder are date-named folders in YY-MM-DD format.

Look for a .tzarc file with your kuid and route name. They sometimes have a suffix on the end of .tzarc

Choose the bigger-sized files and not the smaller temporary saves. I made that mistake before.

Copy the file to your edit folder.

Run a DBR.

This will import and restore your route.

The alternative is to download TZarchiver. You can get this from:

TZarchiver v1.2 - Trainz Romania (tapatalk.com)

This is a bit simpler to use and highly recommended.

You start up the program after unzipping it; there is no installation required.

Drag the .tzarc you want to view/extract and then extract which will put everything into a folder that you can then import back in.

Wow thanks.
I tried each one and found some of the older ones. Everything is there, Terrain, industries.... except the tracks I've been laying today. Its not that much, and Trainz has appeared to have gotten rid of those for good (Idk why). Its as if every time I hit save, it saves everything but the tracks. The tracks on certain newer parts aren't there, but the mountains I put next to them at the same time are still there. I tested laying track and saving... and it works. I have no ideal what I did. Anyway, that's quite minor, and everything else appears to be back where it was.

I'm glad you got your route back.

Are you editing the session and not the route? This can cause a disparity and stuff to not appear where it should. If this is the case, go into your session, using the session editor and bulk-move your track to the route-layer.

John,
I loaded the session as you said... and there are the tracks!:clap::clap: I was able to merge it into my current route, and it works. Thank you so very much.
