help please paint not working

hi i have extended marias pase by a board to put in a terminal
but when i try to paint the ground i pick a texture the circle is there but it will not paint

iif i get texture from original it works

hope this makes sence as i am new to trains

The original route may have reached the limit of 253 (I think) allowable textures. You wouldn't be able to add a new texture, but using one already in the layout would work. Perhaps one of the creators can confirm this. (Supposedly TR2009 SP1 will allow 253 textures per board instead of per layout--a huge improvement!).

Go into the trackside objects tab and search for Signspeed. This will bring up a list of speed signs that the AI will read and should slow down for. If there are going to be a lot of other tracks close together, you might want to try the invisible speed signs. These sit on the track instead of next to the track and work the same way. They look like orang and blue trackmarks, and are editable for your own speed on them for 3kph (5mph) and up.

I had the same problem, if you go to the advanced section of paint there will be a thin where you can outline an area and certain textures work, the select the get texture button and it should let you paint your selected texture.

Check under industries in the Scenery objects in Surveyor.

Check that you're searching under the correct category (or "All"). I make that mistake once in a while, even now.

I made a copy of Marias Pass and the only textures that would work were those from the route. I think the max textures per route is 256. I don't think there were more than that, think it's more to do with copyright maybe.
