LUL Trainz Spotter
Hi guys, tricky situ here.:o

Over the weekend, we decided to give our computer a thorough clearout of used programs etc. This including Trainz 09 (does not run on mine) and Trainz 06 (slow and buggy). That all went rather smoothly. However, Trainz 09's folder has remained in the Auran folder with just it's Editing and Local files remaining, anyony know why?

Right, back with 04 and yesterday I (tried) to install this fine looking U-Bahn U-7 route from http://www.m-r-software.de/ubahn.htm

The route has installed fine., however all apart from the signal aspects which are not visable. The signals are there, but no coloured lights. (I have installed all packs and all required dependencies, at least the Download Helper should have)

Also, the HUD showing time, speed, driver, waybills etc has dissapeared without trace.:o

In addition, all the BVG trains and some rules I downloaded come up with the following error the first time you click on them.

Syntax error in script of asset 'world/dispatcher/downloads/kuid2 xxxxx <kuid2:xxxxxx>

Unable to open output file

Just to note, I keep many of my CMP's in a folder in My Documents called Trainz Backup, would it help to move the CMP's to the TRS2004 folder??

I have attempted to uninstall and reinstall the game, but with no luck as yet.

We run on Windows XP Home Edition Professional and have had no problems like this before.

Help would be most gratefully recieved, and quickly would be even better.:)

Thanks guys.

Adam.

That happens with many programs. You can delete it manually.

You mean CDP files? No, they're best kept away from the TRS2004 program folder. They won't inherently do any harm there but they might slow things down very slightly.

After deleting all the TS2009 files and folders, run a Registry cleaner to delete all its Registry entries. That might fix the problem (I hope).

Tried, no luck I'm afraid.:'(

I think an un-install and re-install of the U-Bahn most likely will make it work.

Anyone know if a First-Class-Ticket really does speed up the download times??

Adam.

Once you have a FCT there is no turning back. I understand that downloads are handled by separate servers so downloads are very fast (measured in seconds) and there are no limits as to amount. After downloading an item all you need to do is open it for edit and commit. Be sure to check for missing and/or faulty dependencies.

I'd say so. If you want numbers, then getting the First Class Ticket sped my downloads up by a factor of 100 or more. Without it, I was averaging 3.8kbs. With it, I average 385kbs, and occasionally spike above 400kbs.
