I need help, as i'm trying to make a drivable Mr. Rogers Neighborhood trolley. I get the file from Google Sketchup, and export it to a Blender file, and once i get it to Blender, I don't know what to do! I have the latest version of blender, so please help me out! I been wanting to drive the Mister roger's trolley in trainz simulator for awhile now, so if you've done this before, please help me out! If someone could at least help me out more, or make it for me, that would help a whole bunch!

I've heard of a program called Ruby TIMX or something like that that you use to export Sketchup files with. That's about all I Know. :hehe:

ZB: I don't know what your skill level with 3D modeling is, but a drivable vehicle is quite a complicated asset, and I would advice that it is not a good first choice as far as an asset. Rather, I would start with simpler assets--scenery buildings, and such, to learn how to create content, and as you get more skilled, advance to more sophisticated assets. You might also consider checking out the on-line courses available for Blender, one made available through Central Dauphin High school ijn Harrisburg, PA, the other through Tufts University. Ther3e may also be blender courses on some of the MOOC sites, such as Coursera and edX.

I don't mean to say you shouldn't make Trolley. Indeed, it's a fine goal. It just sounds to me like you need to learn to use the tools first.

I already have used the Ruby TIMX for scenery, but when I used it to export the trolley as a drivable Item, it just doesn't work. Put the IM file in another train, loaded it up, and it loads, but when i try and drive it, it disappears. Also, it's already pre-built model from the Google Sketchup 3D model download within Google sketchup. I just don't know how to make it driveable.

I already built some scenery, code lyoko scenery that will be able to be downloaded soon, and a thunderbolt 1003 siren also. Just have to upload it, and then you can use it

Best way to see what you need to do to make the trolley driveable is to download another similar drivable asset, and study the config and enginespec files.

I don't know if any of them are drivable or not, but if you do a search in the DLS for keyword "streetcar" by whitepass, and separately for keyword trolley, you will find several assets which are likely drivable.

I do remember seeing a trolley which was closer to that of Mr. Roger's on a thrid party site, but I don't remember which one, and I'm not sure it's still active, either.
