As the title states.

I am at a complete loss as my 2012 steam version of the game is 47103 and there has been no updates from steam to bring this upto date. Am I missing something when there appears to be a number of patches released for everyone else to enjoy?

Any help most appreciated :) Steam is not in my good books at the moment.

Sorry it appears I am in the wrong froum, can a moderator either mover or delete this post and direct me to correct place to post my query. Thnks and again sorry for impulse post

Steam has their own delayed schedule on when they release the patches for their games. I used to have a steam copy of TS12, but, got wise and shelled out the $$ for the real deal, and all is right as rain. The only option for steam is patience. They will drop the auto update when they have it. The reason we have a bunch of patches is because the original manufacturer N3V has released patches before steam gets them to tweak into steam compatible versions.

There is a good deal available on TS12 at the moment, I suggest you buy a copy from N3V and junk the steam version.

Well after lots of searching I have found out that Steam have done this for a while now and it seems they have no intention of updating the game. I am not going to purchase again but I will find a way as I still have my serial keys so just need a version of the game that is non steam dependant. Steam has lost a customer and I am debating whether the fact that they state it is backward compatible with 2010 is actually now a false statement as 2010 has been updated thus I believe that my version is not backward compatible anymore since 2010 got updated. I am just going to gob off at them although it will get me nowhere. At least I will get it off my chest.

Thanks anyway

Regards

I'm not even sure, although I could hazard a guess, why N3V even participates and cooperates with Steam. From what I've read on the forums, purchasing Trainz from Steam is not the way to go. The best thing to do is buy it direct from N3V and you'll know that you've got the real McCoy.

The issues regarding Steam are well known.

I strongly advise users to not buy Trainz (2009,2010, or 12) from Steam - buy it directly from N3V, or one of the boxed versions from regional suppliers (Just Trains for example).

I know it costs more to buy it direct, but in return you have a version that is compatible with all addon packs, and can be patched.

My advice at this point is for you to contact Helpdesk, and see if they can do anything about it.

(The reason for the delayed patching is actually at Steam's end, as they do not allow direct patching)
