So I've got a ton of missing KUIDs somehow... ???

Anyway... Trainz is not finding any of them! Maybe you all can help...

Not wishing to be unhelpful, but that is a huge list. Bear in mind that if the content really is hard to find you are unlikely to be the first user to be stuck. Have you searched the DLS manually? Have you searched the forum for the kuids AND the route name? Have you googled the kuids - each and every one?

I have for many, but not all...

I know this is a large list. Quite frankly, I wish I knew of a way to remove some of the stuff I've downloaded (like old routes, rolling stock, etc.) There is some stuff (in particular, rolling stock) that I have downloaded that never worked and had missing KUIDs and I do not use it or want to anymore, yet I can't think of a way to get rid of it... I'm sure if I could do that, most of these would disappear...

Also, I've noticed that some KUIDs continue to show up even AFTER downloading and installing them... ??

For a start the 1942s are Tafweb and definitely on the DLS (I just checked), I sorta lose interest after that. Before posting you gotta make an effort.

When searching the DLS enter only the 'middle bit' of the kuid - to find <kuid2:123456:789987:2> search for "123456:789987" without the quotes, make sure 'KUID' is checked and tick off all Trainz versions lower than the version you have installed...

Hi Simcik,

That listing looks like it is in TRS2004's content manager. If it is not finding kuids go to your TRS2004\cache\ folder and delete the file "world_cache_dispatcher.chump" then restart TRS2004 and allow it to rebuild the database. Do you have TrainzObjectz? If so check dependancies for each map there and do a search for one of the kuids that content manager says is missing.

Cheers,

Derrmy, the 1942... is onw of the assets that I can download and install but that will not disappear from the list...

I do have TrainzObjects, I will check through there as well as deleting the cache...

What is the best way to delete downloaded assets???

Hi Simcik,

Just had a look at my content manager, it reports three missing items. Two of them have my own kuid and are maps that I have deleted some time ago and the other one is a loco that is on the DLS but I deleted about three weeks ago. I have never been convinced that content manager is 100% reliable and the only thing I use it for is to disable builtin content.

Cheers,
Bill69

@ Simcik - use TO to delete unwanted assets, there is a 'Delete' icon top centre-left-ish. TO will also find unused rolling stock dependencies and also list all assets not used on any installed route, very handy tools.

@ Bill - I bet that 'missing' route is being called by a session you didn't delete, TO can also find orphaned sessions.

Back @ Simcik - if downloaded assets are not showing up you are either missing dependencies, or it's the downloads cache not deleting. The cache should delete automatically when new assets are installed, but it often doesn't. I keep a batch file on my desktop which deletes the cache manually any time I change the 'Downloads' folder...

Thanks, Bob

The 44700 logging packs haven't changed.

May I suggest that in future requests like this, the creators KUIDs are listed in the post, not only as part of the images, I would not/did not bother to expand the lists, I never do if the images are small. I would if I had known my content was there.
