Help finding an appropriate track for my needs

So I'm using the 'Fort Bragg' DEM/HOG route available from the DLS, and using Google Earth, it looks like TUME's Milwaukee Road tracks are the closest to the prototype's track. However, there's one problem: TUME's track, when the 'smooth spline' feature is used, is now 'floating' 0.2 meters above the ground. The problem is that I don't want to spend the time dropping each section of track 0.2 meters. So, is there's a track out there that doesn't float above the ground? I'm thinking maybe the 'TSM Track WWL SK R-50 3', <KUID2:593815:100641:3>, will be a good replacement, but I want the community's opinion on this problem.

I agree with you on the TUME track. This is an old problem with the older track, which hasn't gone away per se but is a lot better than it used to be as people have gotten better with the base of the track and extended it down deeper so it's less of a flat sheet and has more shape to it.

There are many tracks of course. Have you looked at the JR track such as the grey ballast or their other TS12 built-in? The track also exists, I think in T:ANE if that's what you are working in at the moment.

JR also made a deep mesh version of their MS track. (Mojave sub). The track will fill in the gaps underneath so there is no holes and spaces when you smooth the terrain. I can't think of the name, but I suggest you check out all their track anyway.

The TSM track is really nice and I've used the rustier ones on my routes to represent those places where there's little ballast and mostly sand. The problem is this track is built to Russian standards, meaning it's 1536mm gauge instead of 1435mm or standard gauge.

This will work fine in Trainz, as the trains will run on it anyway, but if you get up close with a train car nearby, you'll see the wheels don't quite sit on the rails.

Other alternatives do exist, including tracks by SAM. Have a look and try those, but anyway you'll find one that works for you.
