Help - corrupted PC

Well, personally I save all downloaded Trainz files (Usually .CDP's) in a folder on my main HD. Periodically, I back-up this folder, as well as the entire Trainz directory, to an external hard drive and then disconnect it from the system. I never leave it connected when I'm not using it, due to the possibility of infection if it was connected during a malware infection.

There is also the option within the Trainz Content Manager to save existing Trainz content (in-game) to .CDP files and store them somewhere on the machine. I find this useful in route creation, so my custom routes are backed up.

I backup everything to external hard drives. Last time I looked multi-terrabyte ones were less then $200.00. You can backup up a heck of a lot more then just Trainz things on something that large.

You can put in any SATA drive into the bay and read and write to it. It's great too for transferring data between computers and for recovering data off of drives as well. They're about $35.00 at BestBuy for the USB 2.0 version which I got about 6 years ago now.

Start> This PC>Downloads If that works, check everything you have downloaded. Make sure you know what everything goes to, and pick out the one that stands out. Search it on Google or something, and maybe tell us what you are dealing with, referring to the file name. Also ask Microsoft or Apple, depending on what you use.
