I thought i would stop back and see what was new with trainz. last time I was here a lot of problems were going on. they stopped supporting trainz 2006 and mine no longer would work. do you have be online all the time for the game to work?

Hi Kev,

do you have be online all the time for the game to work?

TRS2006 CMP needs to be online to work properly. If not, it becomes a nuisance with that checking-if-you-are-a-living-being warning all the time. You could use your ESC key to get rid of that but unconnected to the DLS, your CMP turns to be a lazy guy... ;)

But if you only want to use the Game itself to run trains, you don't need to be online at all unless you would want to connect your boss via iTrainz, and I don't think s/he would be very pleased. :p

The policy on T4 and T6 is final, as expected and feared. Not much more to tell you except for your going the FCT way.

Hope I could tell you something more positive, but I'd be lying to you. ;)

No, you don't have to be online at all, except, as Alberte said, for CMP. And, as you might expect, you need to be enjoy multiplayer, which is the hot new feature of Trainz (and not one that especially interests me at this time...) Actually, I wouldn't have bought Trainz if it required an interconnection connections just to run, like the Steam version or RW2 does.

Or... dear R-R-S, having to run Trainz with its DVD or CD loaded on the reader as an old and fortunately forgotten British version of Trainz used to mistreat some British and Portuguese trainzers in the past! ;)

Fortunately enough the system was abandoned! What a pain in one's youknowwhere! :hehe:

lol, yes, so I've heard. You know I often wish I had gotten into Trainz earlier, but I realize that the good old days weren't all good. Yes, I wholeheartedly agree, the Trainz community is much better off with copy protection being a thing of the past.

I have railworks but I like trainz route editor. they should join forces and combine sims. I think cascade game foundry is close to releasing their train sim so now we wait.
