Hi All,
After a long absence, (9 months messing with my boat, 3 months in hospital (off & on), a couple of months without a computer and :o :o messing around with another train sim), I'm back home with TRS.
I noticed a post from Lance_Jago, is it an old one or are you back (hope so).
I have a bit of catching-up to do and, hopefully I can dig out my old Route, which I'm sure I backed-up on DVD and re-start on that, otherwise it's 'start-from-scratch'.
I noticed from another forum that 2006 can now use DEM, any links to this and documentation on it would be appreciated.
Well time to scout around and see whats new.
Cheers
Pete.

Welcome back!

Potted historyof new software: TRS2006 now has a service pack. There are two different versions that are downloadable from two different locations. There are more instructions on this in the FAQs, tips and tricks subsection of the TRS2006 forum.

Trainz Classics 3 has been available for a while, as AHSAN has said. This is available in both DVD version and Digital Download version. They are both priced the same.

TS2009 (NOT TRS2009) is the next full Trainz version, and is scheduled for release by November of this year, and promises many enhancements. Find out more here: http://www.auran.com/TS2009/index.php

TSX (working title) is the next version, and is probably going to be released around the end of 2009. It is the next full version after TRS2009, and is supposed to celebrate 10 years of trainz. (or however many).

Thanks Guy's,
Downloaded and installed the service pack successfully. Set my Graphic Card to the limit (slightly overclocked) and pushed 2006 as hard as I could. Not a stutter:) . And looking forward to 2009. So for now, its time to get on with my favorite pastime. Route Building.
One little bit of help required. I understand from another Forum that 2006 can now use SRTM (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission) data. These are .hgt files.
If anyone could point me in the right direction or give me a link I'd be very grateful.
Cheers
Pete

To do this you need a program (not freeware, but very cost effective) called TransDem. There is a trainz edition that can convert DEM terrain data etc into trainz route files.

By the way, it may not be a good idea to leave your email in your siganture, unless you want a spammer to enhance a certain piece of your anatomy.

Point taken about the email, its been there for a few years, never thought about spam.
I'm currently looking into Topo Maps and Global Mapper, not sure what its purpose is yet.
