Heed help on Trigers!!

Hello all i know what a triger is, what they r used for & what you can do with them but the prob is that i have no clue on HOW to set a triger on my layout. Like really all this talk about scrips & things does my head in. I'm not a computer programer!!!! So is there someone out there can help me out like make up a list of things you can do with trigers like a damo or something 4 us dummy's
