Heart of Wales Line trains.

Hi all.

When I was a kid, I used to travel on the Heart of Wales line and I’ve been wondering about the train it used during the late 1970's & 1980‘s.

What I can remember is that the drivers compartment was very narrow (as it seemed to me at the time) and the passenger area was immediately behind it.

You could watch the driver working, which was very interesting to me as a kid.

Another thing I remember is what I can only describe as a steering wheel in the drivers compartment.

Does anyone know what class of train this was? I know it was a Multiple Unit.

And is it on the DLS by any chance?

Thanks for any help.

Craig.

The only Class 120 I know of is for MSTS, over at UK Trainsim.

The Class 120's in 2 car power twin formation were the mainstay of the route for many years and were lovely, comfortable units to travel on. Sadly they were one of the first original generation DMU type to sucuumb to early withdrawal (asbestos?) and prior to Regional Railways getting the 153's in the early 90's was worked by more mundane Class 108 and occasionally Class 101 DMU's. There are certainly 101's on the DLS, if you can get them working in the sim.
