Hated Locomotive?

What little crap do you like then? Wide cabs? lose noses? That's a bunch of ugly modern crap. EMD built high hoods only for a long time until some complained about visibility, but I can see just fine on both sides out of every high hood I've been on. They're the true form of diesels that's for sure.

KCS by far had the most horrendous looking steamers I've ever seen.

The only unusual thing I see is the lack of number plates up on the fronts.

and disc drivers on the 2-8-0s, over-sized oil tenders on the 4-6-2's, outside dry pipes on the 2-8-8-0's (well on the later ones than the one I posted a pic of). They just are goofy looking. You should see the drawings for them. Even steamers that had Coffin feedwater heaters outside the smokeboxes look way better than KCS's oddities.

I dislike (notice I didn't use hate) pretty much anything that is not North American. However there are a few execeptions to this rule.

steam: anything with a "fat" boiler, or one that looks too big for the loco itself. I was also never a fan of steamers that had the compressors mounted on the smokebox front.

diesel: have to say the P42s in phase V aren't very appealing. I much prefer phase IV or III.

electric: the list is too big to post. With a few exceptions (Virginian EL-2B, MR "Little Joes", TGVs, Shinkansens, Eurostar) most electric engines are butt-ugly.

I dislike most new US diesels. I'm not too fond of maglevs and monorails either. On the other hand, I love late 1800's to mid 1900's steam locos and 1930's - 1970's diesel locomotives. ;)

Norfolk Southern DASH 9 WIDE Cabs & ALL Evloution Series Engines except UP 2010 & all 3 CP Olympic Colors :D :D

There's only one CPR Olympic scheme..

I dislike most modern widecab GE power on the road, I've talked with a lot of hoggers and the general opinion is that they don't respond easyand they are rolling pieces of trash..

Put a triforce of SD40-2's on a freight and I'm a happy camper!

I dislike almost everything narrow gauge.:o

I'm with ya there!

I dislike:
Steam: Everything except for the UP Big Boy
Diesel: N/A
Electric: Everything that doesn't or didn't run on the NEC, minus NYC subway cars

And that's about it!

I'm just gonna keep this simple and say about 90% of everything non-American or similar to American (for example licensed Australian locos)

Beyond saying that, I'll hold my tongue, since everyone's managed to list about half of my favorite stuff here. Who says ugly is bad?

Lucky you, all my favorates have been listed within the first page of this thread, im starting to think I picked the wrong forum:o

cheers

At least no one has said they hate the BQ32-7, it's my second favorite. Someone already said they hate the EMD BL-2, which was my first favorite.

Why love something failed? Because it was made before the GP7. It took the F series and gave EMD an idea of what to make the GP series. It basically created the GP series.

Cheers,
Joshua

I hate the BQ32-7. Its stupid, and funny looking, so there.....

Sorry I couldn't resist:hehe:. Actually I don't even know what it looks like. My search on google turned up zero results. But if its an American made then I'm fine with it. lol

@LGBMATT;

I think he meant to say BQ23-7, in which case, you would've found this:
