You Australians that use Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST, UTC+10) are currently 15 hours ahead of us residents of the eastern U. S., which is currently using Eastern Standard Time (EST, UTC-5).

Nope, at the moment the eastern states of NSW, Victoria & Tasmania (except the Sensible one of Queensland) use AEDT, which is currently 16 hours ahead of the eastern states.

Edit: Are those two having leap day birthdays? I'd check, but this new (term used looosly) forum, it take forever, well maybe not that long.
