Wishing you a Happy 85th Birthday.

While today is not the official celebration day, it is her actual birthday.

From your friends in the colonies.

Trains related..... UK invented trains.

Regards,

The Queen is the oldest ever British monarch and her longevity has had another record breaking effect.

Prince Charles becomes Britain's longest-serving heir to throne

Just two monarchs to beat for longevity of reign.

On 12 May 2011 her reign will surpass that of George III.

10 September 2015 is the date when at the age of 89, Elizabeth II would surpass Queen Victoria as the longest-reigning monarch in British and Commonwealth history (as well as the longest-reigning female monarch in world history).

I know what someone should do! They should create a King George or Duchess class bearing the Royal coat of arms as tribute to the royal family!

Of course, I wouldn't be the one to do it, I have no skill in creating, just repairing and modding.

So, what do you say to that?

It is little old Britain actuall robd - not England.

Yep good luck to her. Some years back I got a ticket for the launch of a RN warship here in Glasgow and the Queen and Prince Phillip where there to do the honours then she did a walkabout and got within a few yards . About 5 years ago I was through my job, briefly in Princess Anne's company. Very down to earth. Would be nice if HM was to beat Queen Vic's record!

Thought you'd be looking forward to the forth-coming visit? Almost as much as I'm looking forward to Kitty and Liam's wedding. Right...

@ Ed - Only the BBC would have you believe that we all love the royals.

Why do these things always turn political? Come on all, can't we just have a little Trainz fun here?

Cheers

AJ

I never knew Béal Feirste was Irish for Belfast (or Belfast is English for Béal Feirste). Given that fact, I guess your view on the British Royal family might be a little less than favourable.

Still, plenty of republicans share your dislike. Fair enough, it's a free country.

The irony is, I'm actually from Scotland though I share the same view on the royals as most nationalists here do. A good bit of research though and a handy factoid to impress friends with. Pronounced Beel Fershta. : )

Now, I must say no more or I will get myself banned.

*humour extracted. Please do the same with this.

I hope that our British Queen Elizabeth enjoys her birthday.

Also, I hope and pray that William and Kate's wedding goes off without any hitches. It's not fair, and it's not their fault, that they should have been used as a political gambit to inject a bit of a "feelgood factor" into our recession hit nation.
