Hi:

I have a tutorial on how I have made ground textures on my blog, specifically starting at this entry. I plan on posting some additions to it soon relating to how my recent textures were made. Perhaps you could learn something from there.

If you need help on making ground textures, then I could try to help.

Regards,

Zachary.

Your texture's main TGA file needs to have a pure white alpha channel. Otherwise, you texture will have this effect. Here's the relevant text from my "How I make ground textures" blog post with instructions on how to quickly add the white alpha channel in the GIMP:

The texture needs to have a pure white alpha channel; otherwise, your texture will be very reflective in Trainz. Choose the Layers -> Mask -> Add Layer Mask option, selecting the option to initialize the layer mask to "White (full opacity)", click the Add button, then go Layers -> Mask -> Apply Layer Mask to convert the layer mask into an alpha channel.

Zachary.
