Ground randomly changes height without me telling it to do so.

I have been working on a route for about a year now, moved it to 2009 about 4 months ago ish, recently (last 3-4 weeks) I would save my route, and enter the driver mode. Upon driving my route, I noticed that in certain (random areas) the ground height would DRAMATICALLY drop off like a cliff, taking the roads and buildings with it, almost looking like a crater, while in other areas it would do the opposite, and create a monstrous mountain. These events would be localized to one, maybe two baseboards at a time, before returning the ground to the way i had saved it as. It would do this every 15-20 baseboards.

If I return to surveyer and level the ground where the mountain was, and saved it, and entered driver mode again, the ground would be level where i levelled it, but the mountain would move to another spot.

Whats going on??

I have experienced a similar problem in Trainz 2006 after merging two layouts. At various points along the outside edges of the now merged layout there would be either a very deep but narrow (a few grid squares) "sink hole" or a tall needle like spike, of similar area.

In all cases one of the merging layouts was much larger than the other.

I would have to move around the entire outside edge of the merged layout to eliminate these abnormalities. I later suspected (but was unable to confirm it) that the base of the sink hole or tip of the spike were actually at the same height (possibly 0).

More food for thought.
