Ground Cabling

I have been trying to find a spline of ground cabling to represent what most railways have at the side of the track. i.e. snaking cables to connect points, signals, gaps in 3rd rail connectivity etc. I have keyed in many words to the search facility on the DLS, but have found nothing suitable.

Anybody have any suggestions ?

Most railway systems that I have experienced use conduit running alongside the track to carry and protect their infrastructure cabling and often have an underground connection between the conduit and the track or signals they feed to allow for road vehicles to pass over them without damage.

If it is a short gap (eg. in the 3rd rail) that you are trying to cover then splines may not be the best choice. Perhaps a fixed size and shaped cable object might be more suitable. This, of course, may not make your quest any easier.

Something like this?

<kuid:45317:104731> UK conc cable trough C1.6 (1m)
<kuid:45317:104732> UK conc cable trough C1.6 (3m)
<kuid:45317:104733> UK conc cable trough t junc Size C.1.6
<kuid:45317:104810> UK conc cable trough C1.7 (1m)
<kuid:45317:104811> UK conc cable trough C1.8 (1m)
<kuid:45317:104812> UK conc cable trough C1.7 (3m)
<kuid:45317:104813> UK conc cable trough C1.8 (3m)
<kuid:45317:104814> UK conc cable trough t junc Size C.1.7
<kuid:45317:104815> UK conc cable trough t junc Size C.1.8

All by nexusdj and build 2.9

Thanks JCitron, these are fine, but I was looking for just the plain cables - not stuck in trunking. Any further thoughts ?

Take a look at something named "stelldraht". Is built in and there are several accessories related to it. Try KUID 2:72730:24383:2 and 2:104001:60260:2 All are German related, I think.

The best match I've found so far (pointed out to me by PFX) is the range of industrial hoses by dinorious_redundicus. The 50mm hose does a great impersonation of the type of cable you're looking for if you bend it into various positions - kuid2:68213:37009:1
