I would like peoples comments on an Nvidia Geforce 9800GT to run Trainz 2009 and/or any suggestions for a suitable card.

It's a good card, though there are much better out there. If you're planning on putting it in an existing machine, the power supply and possibly the available slots may be a major limitation as to what you can upgrade.

That card requires at least a 400Watt Power supply ... My PC, and most other PC's, only have a 300Watt power supply, or less wattage, especially true with Dell, and Apple/MAC products have a low end power supply.

If you have a 300W (or less) power supply, a very good choice is the nvidia GT430. My MSI version (1GB factory OC @ 800MHZ) runs most routes in TRS2010/12 at 30-50 FPS (all assets updated to 2.9 or higher). Full load power consumption in watts as measured with a watt meter is a paltry 30W. This is the low profile unit and comes with both brackets in the box.
