On a related note, NS is finally working on repainting the last of its ex-Conrail power. Down to 49 units in blue. As a railfan, sure, blue units brought some nice variety into the endless waves of Dash 9's, but that's not why they ran them. So m I complaining that NS is doing this? No. It makes complete sense and I'm not sure why anyone would complain. Norfolk Southern, like any other railroad out there, is a business. Back in the NW/SOU merger, everything was repainted within 2-3 years. And it's been what- 12 years since the Conrail split? It's about time.

So yeah, I'll always remember when blue SD60I's were common enough that I didn't even bother to take photos of them, but will I curse NS until the day I die for repainting them? Not at all.

And this is why we have programs such as Trainz. Now we can run patched, unpatched, and partially patched equipment no matter what and when we're modeling.

I don't miss the Conrail blue, but that could be because I grew up in the "north" on the old Boston and Maine where their blue-dipped Geeps once ran. Now I get excited when I see something other than a Guilford gray unit with badly peeling paint on it.

Maybe you follow the rules, that's good. Doesn't mean you're not a foamer. I mean, seriously? Whining to no end about good business practices? A lot of the troubles railroads had in the '70s were the government's fault, but not all of them; compared to a way a lot of stuff was run then, the Class 1's run a pretty tight ship today. Pleasing foamers is not and should not be on their agendas. Any time something is done for purely railfan purposes, i.e. something like a steam program, is something you should be thankful for, and not complain about because maybe to you it's insignificant.

Sounds very similar to saying you would curse UP/NS (not sure which you were referring to) for patching/repainting power.

I get that you have to accept it but not like. So fortunately I have BNSF I could work with. So actually you need to grow up and stop overreacting to one's opinion. What's so stupid is how you keep changing your story to make what you said seem more reasonable. Like how you went from cursing the name UP to "not screaming jumping up and down and crying about it" to simply not supporting them. If that's really what you meant quit changing your story. You'll notice that I've stuck to the same idea throughout my posts. Yes, I fully understand how this could anger you. I get that. The post I quoted here is fairly reasonable, not supporting them. Whether I think your reasons for not supporting them are very substantial or not. But frankly, all the reasons you presented in the first three pages are very childish and illogical and that is why I have continued to post. Like "a mob of greedy punks." Seriously? You couldn't put it any better than that? Just because they're more business-minded than you'd like them to be?
