Hi Woody, although I didn't know you much or at all really, but I'm gonna miss ya. Take care and I hope to see you on the screenshots threads.

See you on the flip side woody. Here's a little something for you before you go.:(

I agree some threads can be cluttered with irrelevant garbage... I partially agree there is a lot of crap going on. But there sure is a lot of assistance, encouragement and camaraderie as well. As with anything in life, take the good with the bad.

Easy solution about the rubbish!!... DON'T READ such threads... and sure as hell don't subscribe/post to them. There's also an ignore function. Most members who feel this way about the Forums and mope about it, simply have nobody else to blame but themselves. On top of that, there are far more challenging things in life to worry about and prioritise anyway.

It's kind of like moaning about the rubbish on tv, but not changing the channel... or better still, hitting the "off" button and getting off your lazy a*** and doing something more practical.

I think he will be back. I left for a while, but this game is so addicting and a true Trainzer will return... He's probably having so annoying problem with Trainz and no one has helped him resolve his issue. I must say too that I am guilty for posting requests and stuff, but isn't that what is all about? You see someone cool and interesting, should I not be able to ask "how did you do that?" I see at the forums home page, there are a lot of tabs that say what the topic should be about. Some of us need to learn the right place to post our annoying rants and wants...

Hey Woodie

Does this mean I don't have to make that Mattoon station building for you now?

I know it's taken me a long time, but I have finally worked my way through all the requests I had before that one and was just about to start construction work on it.

Please let me know via this thread or PM (I can't access my e-mail address at the moment due to a house move).

Coming and going is all part of Forums on whatever the subject and Trainz is no different. It is always difficult to strike a definitive balance in such as one man's meat is another's poison so to speak. I have been here a bit longer since TRS2004 and Make a point although I enjoy Trainz to have breaks so I don't take anything too overtly seriously as can happen!

Well Woody I'm sad to see you go. You write well and it was always a pleasure reading your posts.

I wish many other so-called newbies here would learn from you.
You hold your standards high, and I hope you continue to do so thorughout your life.

The forums I agree can be a little "testy" at times, and like any community people move on and sometimes come back for a visit, which I hope you plan to do some day.

Take care,

John

When I joined this forum I had zero internet experience, I acted as a fool and posted stuff that aggravated members with senoirity, and I couldn't understand why, but I learned. They were somewhat hard on me, but I learned, because of those that were "rude", "flammitory" or as I like to say "smart". Now I have improved so much, I act properly on the internet.

I was the same when I joined. I posted pointlessly and annoyed many people. I've matured a bit now. :D

I feel this forum was a better place a year ago, and if you ask some members who have left, they agree.

Yes. It was a better place a year ago. Now, its full of young folks and people who fill the forums with useless posts. I remember one who struck a little while ago. Constantly talking about and relating everything to Strasbourg. Arrrggghhh!

Woody,

Wethier you knew it or not, for me atleast, you set a large example of how to act not only here, but other places on the Web. It has truely been a great experience to know you, to see the things you've done, and to watch you grow, from that "noob" stage as we all have. I agree with many topics, and to AJ_Fox, I think what he means is the expression of one's opinion seems to be limited, but that is a discussion for a different day and thread. Woody, I can only wish you the best in the challenges you will face in life. My days here are numbered aswell, with the needless threads, asking for content, then begging, then getting mad, and the nonsense. Needless to say, as I am sure it is the case for all of us that have had the pleasure to know you for these past 2 years (God, it's been 2 years already) it has indeed been quite a ride,

Keep on running,

Take care,

Ryan:wave:

IC -

Not to bust your chops but pretty much any forum is toxic these days. The Trainz forums (forae)? are pretty tame compared to just about anything else.

Yeah, I'm a bit new to Trainz, but have been on the net since it was still technically a U.S. defense project. It really isn't too bad.

Granted, there seems to be some n00bs popping up with content creation requests. Well, they're n00bs. Yes, annoying, but, put in their place tactfully, they might be great contributors. Rather than embarrass the shiznit out of them, one of the best responses was a recent post by an individual with some posts to tutorials and thanking them for their (anticipated) contributions.

My overall point is, rather than letting d-bags chase you off, converse with your fellow whatever-they-may-be fanatics. Things WILL work out.

no...it only means so long....

 ...I want to do the total goodbye every time this happens, but these guys are able to return possibly even more equipped to do as well or better...

This is after all a Global Forum Community supported & continued by N3V LLC.

We so have not the right in any way to shove or pull...The integral game is totally Auran Trainz to the end...Anyone may turn away & return as they wish.

If I were to recommend an alternative, it would be to investigate the options as regarding MSTS or RW....there are some exciting things ongoing there...
But my choice by experience is to remain with Auran TS2010, no matter what.

If one is to desire to operate trains as a hobby, I stick to my first choice...

Woody,
these forums will miss you. I will, And as shown on the thread, ALOT of other people will. When I started out. I was VERY much a noob. I even asked for a dang turntable. I think it was a 70 footer. lol
But I have learned much since then. I do hope you comeback one day when things are better. Though, I may not be here, but you never know.

So, I see we have these people on this forum as well. The most childish behavior I can think of, is making a thread making a huge deal about leaving the forum, because everything is bad, and it was much better earlier. I see it on almost every forum I am at, and it's always people who themselves have lots and lots of posts, and obviously thinks that makes them important enough to make a big deal about leaving. Well, I'll say the same to you as I say to everyone else like you: If you don't like the forum, you have two alternatives. You can make suggestions to improve the forum, or you can leave without making a fuss about it.

Also, I must say, your post is big words from someone with 2,500 posts in only two years...

Before you start calling anyone childish around here, I suggest that you read the CoC and if you have already, you might want to read it again. There's really no need to start insulting anyone. Happy Trainz'n

Mike

Sorry to see you leave, you were always a magor forum-goer here. I too have learnt of the costly mistakes one can make in these humble forums, such as the time I thought of myself as the evil dictator of all content creators. You fixed me up that time!:D
