Golden Spike Anniversary at Promontory, Utah 5/10/2011

Even though it was a cold, rainy day there were about 1,000 fans in attendance.

Not a lot. I'd have to check to make sure, but I'd guess less than two miles total. The official website is http://www.nps.gov/gosp/index.htm.

That's actually alot by tourist railroad standards. the local tourist line near me only has 2.5 (miles), and i know of lines that have less.

now, if they could just get some coaches to haul tourists around in.
