get height

Having trouble getting the 'get height' tool to work, ts2010.
Tried the search option in the forum, no mention so I take it to be operator error.
Environment height is set at zero.
Any pointers??

Try zooming out a bit and see if that works. That sometimes works for me.

No joy, I have shut down and re-started the program and it seems to be stuck at a certain depth.
I am using the plateau tool to set a depth.
