Hi Everyone, I'm new to Trainz 2010 & can't figure out what to do with my favourites in the railyard. Also, how do I choose locos & rolling stock in the 'quick drive' section - there just seems to be a few carriages and coal trucks!
Please help! Thanks, Clive:o

Welcome to the forums!

For choosing locos:

Don't use Quick Drive just yet.

First go to the route and click Edit Session or Edit Route. This will take you to Surveyor where you can place on the map whatever trains you have installed.

Do not ever overwrite the route, unless you name it differently.

Quick Drive is a bit harder to set up, so leave it alone for now. It wil, however, come in handy when there are trains on the route, and especially in Multiplayer, when you can clone existing consists.

Hope this helps, and happy Trainzing!

Hello and welcome to the wonderful world of trainz!

Railyard is simply a place where you can view what rollingstock is available locally for the game. As you have discovered, you can select the items you want as your favorites.

To actually use the rollingstock you have to either edit or create a session for a map that you want to drive. So, select a map, and for the time being, create a new session for the map. Find a piece of track you want to start from and in the upper right corner of the surveyor window select the little wheel icon. This will present a select list showing the available rollingstock. If the little yellow star is bright then only your favorites will be displayed.

scroll through the list and select and engine and once highlighted click on the rail and the engine will appear. If the engine does not face the direction you want, you will then have to select the icon that looks like round arrows to reverse the direction. Add any other rollingstock to the consist and then you can you quick drive if you like or you can save the new session, exit surveyor and then find the session and click on drive.

Hope this gets you started
