I was wondering what settings people use to keep the game running smoothly. I know that my PC is at the lower end of the recommended settings.

Also are there any particular items in surveyor that are best avoided to keep things smooth (the whomping willow trees spring to mind!)

For smoother running on a lo-spec machine try it windowed. From the opening menu 'Options' > 'Display Settings' uncheck 'Fullscreen' and try a resolution about 2/3 your monitor size. Also experiment with Open GL and DirectX.

In-Game from the main menu choose 'Options' and try moving some of the performance sliders down a notch or two.

To find the performance-killing content, In Game main menu > 'Developer Settings' check 'Show Performance Stats' (or something like that). This gives you info in-game about which assets are performing worst...

A note to add to what has already been said: when using the performance data, look for 'worst buffer count' - if it's above 100, then it is likely to become a problem (make a note of the KUID number if that happens)
