Game Sessions are lost after exiting the game

Hi

I have been building a route in ts2010 and am having a problem where after saving my route and exiting the game, all my session settings and driver profiles are lost.

I have tried reloading older sessions, saving copies of the routes and backup copies of routes etc - all of them dont seem to save teh session settings.

I can use quick drive after setting the session settings and that works fine - its not until i Exit trains and then start the program up again that all the settings are lost.

Is this a bug, or is there something that I should be doing?

I am running Windows 7 64bit, 4GB RAM, AMD Athlon X2 (Dual Core), Nvidia 9600 512MB video Card.

Any help or advise would be appreciated. Its getting very annoying having to re-create all the session details everythime I shut down the program and start it again.

I think I may be experiencing the same thing, though my problem is more likely a user error. When in surveyor, I will change something in the session- specifically I'll add the "show custom HUD" rule. I hit the quick drive button (which brings up the "save" dialogs) and my rule is there. If I leave the program and come back later, that rule is gone- I have to add it back.

Hi Rod,
I don't know if this applies to you but I found layouts and sessions imported from TRS2004 to TS2010 ( same user kuid number ) are treated as read only. TS2010 goes through the motions of saving the map/session but when you reload them the changes are lost.
I found it was necessary to save the layout with a new name for changes to be saved in TS2010.

Hi,

I've had similar problems with XP - the problem is possibly with the write permissions in the Trainz and sub-folders.
If the program doesn't have the rights to save the file, then it loses the information.

With Win 7, there's a different set of User controls, but IIRC the Program needs to be given Admin rights (or equivalent).
