From Trainz to Ashes

~snip~

Damned spiffing performance so far if you ask me!

May I suggest that all UK supporters set the Surveyor birdbath to Adelaide, and turn off Rain for the next 24 hours. All weather controls to be set to neutral please!

Cheers

We only have ourselves to blame for past Australian dominance. Like the Americans we have a national talent for inventing sports and games but, unlike them, we tend to teach other nations the rules. If we did not continuously make this basic mistake we could be world champions every year, American football style. I believe that Australian football works the same way.

Still its nice to see that there is some competition this time around even if both sides remain evenly matched. I hear dissent at this, but the statistics prove my point: there are four Englishmen (Messrs Cook, Bell, Pietersen & Trott) whose averages are currently over 100. There are also four Australians - Doherty, North, Bollinger & Hilfenhaus :-)

I didn't want to post on this thread yesterday in case the hubris fairy came and made it rain all over Adelaide. Actually, the rain did come, but not in time to save the Aussies!

Hooray!

A celebratory glass of cider tonight I think!

Tuesday, December 7, 2010 a day that will live in infamy

Cricket:- England trashed the Australians.

Football:- Manchester United top their group in the European champions league.

Football:-Tottenham top their group in the European champions league.

What a day!.......what a day!. At 10 o'clock last night me and the better half decided that it warranted much more than a glass of cider, we cracked open the Christmas drink and had a Contreu and Brandy, Geeeeeeeeeeez.

Yeah, let's take em apart in Sydney once again, then bring on India and South Africa. Think they are one and two in the world do they, well we'll shown them that they are still just part of the British colonies when it comes to cricket just like Australia.

The bottles were out here again last night, much more of this English success and I will turn into a square eyed alcoholic insomniac.

Coming to think of it, there was so little opposition I did not lose that much sleep last night.

Congrats to the english cricket team, there have been a lot of good english players who have suffered in Australia during the last 24 years. The one fault, they made it look easy ;)

Top marks to Ricky Ponting in defeat, very sporting and took it on the chin. Classy.

Interesting gap in this thread between 8th and 29th Dec, but we'll let Perth go shall we?

Well done England! :D :p

Now on to Sydney....
