FMA Elevated Tracks - Problems Using

Trying to use Vendels excellent embanknents and dividers but cant seem to connect the splines (track beds, embankments etc) to the fixed items such as the dividers and embankment ends (the ones with lots of yellow vertex points around them) when I try to connect them it throws me out of Trainz

any help much appreciated

You probably don't have the invisible spline referenced by the dividers installed. I remember having a similar problem with Bloodnok's crossings when I didn't have the right invisible road downloaded.

Paulzmay is most likely correct here.
I suggest you run TO to check for missing dependencies.
Alternatively go the Vendel's site and download any that are needed or PM Vendel about it, he is a very helpful person.
I use these great assets in 2004 as well and they work, so it looks as if you're missing something.
And they aren't the easiest of items to attach to, having so many attachment points, so care is needed during this operation.

Thanks.... have all the assets.... had another go and managed to join them now.... The issue I had was when i joined a piece of track to either side of the divider/embankment and placed a third piece to link them... it was impossible to delete this third piece... the secret seems to be to run the track straight across and avoid joining it to the spline points

I agree 200% with you on that one, Angelah. They are superb, but really a pain to align correctly. I wonder why there is so much attachment points, as you only need a few ones. Has anybody an idea on why - or trick to make placement less an hassle?

I imagine it's so you can select your track centres for double track. Some countries (e.g the UK) place double tracks much closer to each other as the rolling stock & loading gauge is smaller.

Whatever; the main thing is the problem is sorted, glad about that.
The FMA assets are really superb so please don't take my mention of the fixing points as a criticism, it is not.
When I used these static objects just outside Bristol Temple Meads I had some problems but all I did was to delete the static and try again. It took a few attempts but it does work.
I would heartily recommend the use of FMA content, amazing stuff... as you will see when the second section of WCL is released, but that won't be for a while yet, I am rebuilding parts.

I agree it may help for tracks placing, even if the attachment points are so close together it is more a question of chance than accuracy to have the track sticking where you expected it to do so.

My main concern comes when you need to attach a elevated track spline (embankments or viaduct) to the fixed elements. Even by retrying many time I never have them be exactly aligned - they always end slightly shifted to the left or the right, which is visually annoying.

Don't get me wrong, I like FMA assets very much and used them intensively. I just try to find a way to use them at their best - or at least understand why it was made that way.
