Floating Pullman

Hello to you all,
I have just tried to download SP Pullman Coaches V1 by Mcquirel and end up with a nice coach but no bogies...In the DLS it seems the bogies are for trs 2006 but the coach is ok for trs 2004..Can I successfully have the whole coach and if so how?
I have trs 2004 v2.4 build 2370...
Also I have had to uninstall trainz a few times due to unrelated problems and of course reinstalled it.Have been told by a computer shop bloke that I have to also reinstall the appropriate service packs i.e.3 and or 4.As these are large downloads and I have only a slow dial up connection is there a way I can tell if I already have them somewhere.Although I have had a computer for a number of years I am still illiterate when it comes to using them...

Hi umphies

You might be able to get away with making the bogies compatible for TRS2004 by a little manual editing.

Download the bogies (if you haven't already).

Open Content Manager and search for the bogie.

Right Click mouse, choose "Edit in Explorer"

When the Explorer folder opens, double click config.txt which will open the file in either Notepad or Word Pad according to your Windows settings.

Scroll down until you see the line "Version" or "Trainz Version"

Change the value to 2.3 or below.

Select "File" "Save"

Close Explorer Folder

Right Click the bogey in Content Manager and select "Edit" "Commit".

Hopefully, when you play Trainz the whole of the coaches including the bogeys will show up!

If that fails, then the alternative is to change the bogey dependancy but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it!

Yes you do have SP4, v2.4 build 2370 is the latest version of TRS2004.

But Please excuse me for not knowing which way is up...All I have to work with is a simple version on trs 2004 content manager where I cannot find any referral to "edit in explorer".Also I have trainz objects where I can look in the config.txt file for this bogie but cannot find "version".. only build which when changed does nothing..Thanks for your help anyway..

Sorry, I migrated to TRS2006, then TC3 and now TRS2009 so my memory of TRS2004 is somewhat hazy. If you can't change the version in the config.txt file, then there's more to this than meets the eye!

I looked at the SP Pullman Coaches and noticed that the asset creator has revised the coaches to cope with a bogey issue in TRS2006 and TRS2009 - perhaps it is this that has caused difficulty with TRS2004 users?

May I suggest you raise this problem in the "Content Creation Support" section of the forum. You may find you are not alone and that someone knows the answer!
