First Reskin And Having Trouble

WAB1189

Pixel Killer
Hello everyone!
I'm trying to reskin Ben Neal's undec SD9 and I'm having some trouble with the config file. I've been tinkering with it for a few hours now with no luck. This is the first time I have tried to reskin something and I know if I can get this config file thing sorted out I can do the repainting of the unit.

Is this the way it should look?? BTW I'm doing C&IM 50 and I would like for it to show up in the asset list like SD9 C&IM 50.

description "The big brothers to the GP7 and GP9, the SD7 and SD9 were EMD's first forays into C-C power. They were kinda like heavy GP7s or 9s with extra traction motors. Because of low horsepower, SD7s and SD9s were not really great for fast freight but were good at pulling heavy, slow freights or transferring cuts of cars between yards. The early SDs did find acceptance on several major railroads, but not to the same extent as their smaller siblings. It would take about 15 years and 1000 more horsepower before C-C power became commonplace. Still, SD7/9s found niches in heavy transfer service, where some can still be found in service on major railroads today.
Please view the readme for some useful information for reskinners.

Please can some one help me out with this??

If you are reskinning a model, the only thing you have to change is the kuid in the config file. You should also change the company name and the user name, but I usually don't change anything else if I'm using the same bogies and engine file and hornsound etc...

Try that first, then make gradual changes as you wish until you narrow down the issue.

Euphod I tried what you said but I'm still getting that error (Failed to commit changes to asset <kuid:528405:100133> due to missing config file)

Thank you for trying to help. :)

The config file is actually called config.txt. That is, it has the ".txt" file extension, which Microsoft Windows describes as a "Text Document". Check that the file has that extension. If you were editing the config file in Notepad, then Notepad should want to save it with a .txt extension by default. If you have to, then use "Save as" in Notepad to save the file, making sure that the "Save as type" box is set for the .txt extension.

Regards.

Retro00064 thanks for the help but it didn't work. I kept getting the same error.

However I did get it to work! It was strange to how I fixed it.

I was able to rename the original file. Then I cloned it again just like I had did all the other times and I added in my kuid and stuff and committed. It worked! I liked to fell out of my chair! It only took me eight hours. lol

Although now I have two SD9 C&IM 50's on my asset list. lol

Now lets see how good of a paint job I can do. :D
