Hello,

After hours of work and research, I finally managed to convert the SP Cab Forward from the Train Simulator DLC to Trainz.

I think it looks really nice.

Would be interested in method...
You need this :

-Train Simulator
-The Cabforward DLC
-Ninja Ripper (paid application)
-Blender (obligation)

Using Ninja Ripper you can extract any 3d assets of any game , for our case extracting the loco model from train simulator.
Launch the game using ninja ripper, create a new routes (empty), place a piece of straight track and only the loco without the tender.
Follow the instruction given by Ninja Ripper.
Head back to Blender where you install the plugin/addon that come with Ninja Ripper.
Now you can import the special files from Ninja Ripper that already come with textures.

I hope this helped.

 again ?
I just went to see what this Ninja Ripper thing is. I find the main text on your page funny : "Attention: the program is intended only for investigation of the places of the levels of games located "behind" the camera and does not pursue the goal of piracy".
If they say so, it must be true ... :ROFLMAO:

On the other hand, it should say (more accurately) :
-Train Simulator (also paid)
-The Cabforward DLC (also paid)
-Ninja Ripper (paid application)
-Blender (mandatory , and free)

Among the FAQs section, it mentions that it doesn't import (extract) animations, bones, or weights ... as well as mesh distortions and other such niceties.

Therefore, whoever performs the extraction must redo the animations (very fun for a steamer) and also correct the meshes geometry ... in other words, they must master both modeling and rigging, not to mention the final export.
If you know how to do all that, why on earth not create your model to your liking from scratch ?

Hello,

Since i did everything i can tell with confidence that half of it is false.
Firstly : yes you have to redo the animation for trainz standard and not its not complicated ; take 16 minutes with a tutorial i found on youtube, nothing crazy.
Second : there is no need to correct anything, no need to model anything, your only job is to create attachement points and choose the right uv maps thats it.
