They got both sides with a subtle message for all the non 2010 users:hehe:

Not saying your graffiti is bad or anything. But it is quite rare to see the actual containers graffitied. I have seen a lot of container trains and I have never seen the actual containers with any sort of graffiti on them. But the cars on the other hand, that is a different story.

Just putting it out there.

Good point...

All we get here in yuma are containers and I have seen "some" graffiti but yeah more on the well cars...

I guess I can make up miles and miles of different skins as to not repeat...:hehe:

I am just learning what to do in illustrator and photoshop, I can clone a car and give it a try...

That looks better.

The “taggers” drop shadow relief now looks authentic. The natural shadow (rather than the graffiti artists) now matches the shading on the bed of the container carrying car. It now ‘bends’ in the right place, whereas in the earlier shots it stood out and looked unnatural.

I do like the way that all of the graffiti “paintwork” now follows all of the contours of the mesh.

Nice work!

Cheers
Casper

Looks goood!

One little touch that makes the whole graffiti thing a little more convincing would be patches and small repaints, as the Railroads do not always appreciate our independent artists. A stretch of "fresh" yellow down the side of a few of the cars, maybe with some new "art" over the edge of it. Encompass the whole "order v. chaos" struggle, as it were.

So far the only decent looking weathering I've done is by scanning HO rolling stock.

I'll have to give your method a try.:D

Your experimentation is really paying off. They're looking great. I may try out that brush myself. Thanks for the link.

Keep up the good work.
Mike

I never laughed so hard when the fuzz busted a tagger in the freight yard in Delaware (red wet paint handed) with a journeymans toollbox full of dozens of spray paint cans. They searched his nearby get-away car and found several thick scrapbooks showing pictures of him standing next to a complete collection of his thousands of his rolling canvas artworks.

I think they fined him $137 million, and wanted to throw him in jail for 127 years.:hehe:

Aww, they let him off that easy?
