When I click on download helper I get the following error message.

"Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (trainz) isn't associated with any program."

Anyone any idea what I need to do please??

Since F/Fox was updated some time ago I have been unable to use it with the download helper and I have tried all the settings I can think of.
I have to use Internet explorer every time I want to use the download helper.

I have Firefox with the latest updates and do not have any problem with it. Maybe it is your graphics card. :hehe:

One more question though,is it possible to save the downloaded dependencies to a memory stick to enable transfer to the pc the game is on and if so how do i do it?? New to all this stuff lol

When I upgraded to the latest FireFox last week, I couldn't download anything, anywhere after installing it.

I reinstalled the previous version of FireFox and I can now download again. No clue why that happened.

I also upgraded to the latest Firefox version and have no problem at all downloading assets from the DLS. The ways of software and computers are mysterious.

I have no problem downloading from the DLS with the latest Firefox. (Version 3.5.7) - http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/personal.htm - Works well.
I find Firefox far easier to use when downloading anything, particular when doing multiple downloads all at the same time... If you are having problems with Firefox, just reset your default browser back to Internet Explorer and use that. If you haven't upgraded to the latest, (IE8) you can download it here; - http://www.microsoft.com/nz/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx

I'm having this exact same problem. I just noticed that when I opened ContentManager that it said I was not logged in to the DLS. I wonder if this has anything to do with it? How do I get the CM to log me in? My username and password are entered into the Settings>Internet tab.

I just got a new computer - old one was XP, new one is 7. Had 2009 installed on the old comp no problem. Installed 09 on the new one, copied the local folder and have all of my files, no problems. Except for this...

A little more detective work here and I figured out how to associate Trainz with the content to be downloaded. The issue seems to be that I can only find the "Trainz" program to select to open the files from the DLS and not the "Content Manager v2.0". Is CM2 a separate program or built into Trainz itself? I have CM open as we speak and it works for editing other files, so it's installed.

Yes, when you save with FTP your browser should ask where you want to save the CDP file. You can either save it straight to a memory stick, or save it to hard disk and copy to memory stick afterwards.

CMP is a program supplied with Trainz from TRS2006 onwards, later versions having CM2 or CM3. It's installed in the Trainz program folder and invoked via the Trainz main menu. I suspect it can also be invoked directly but I've never risked doing so.

Hi John,

I invoke my Content Manager seperately from Trainz. I find that it runs better because there's less memory overhead from the Launcher. It's located under the xxx\Auran\TS20yy\Bin directory. Where the xxx=the complete install path to the Auran installation, and yy=06, 09, or 10.

I created a shortcut to the executably and placed it on my desktop. I've also set the attributes for Admin rights to solve the htm register key message.

If the extension "IE Tab" will ever become compatible with FF ver 3.6 you can use that. Just open the DLS in an IE Tab. Hopefully, that will happen soon because I miss it.

Try searching for Coral IE Tab on the addons site. Though there shouldn't be any problem using DLS website links with Firefox 3.6. That's what I'm using now and it works fine.

Anyone still having trouble, try checking my post in the thread linked to from the 2nd post in this thread. There's info there that should be able to be used in re-creating the Trainz URL registry info. (You might need to edit the path info depending on which Trainz version is installed and where it's installed at, but otherwise it ought to work.) On some Trainz versions it might re-create the info on it's own as long as it's running as administrator on non-XP systems.
