Find Objects not working ?

You could make a cdp of the 2 assets, save then delete from cm. Close trainz down, wait a minute or 2 then restart. If the find objects problem persists re install the cdp's, if it's ok at least you'll know what caused it.
I have neither of those 2 assets in 2010 but this doesn't mean they are at fault.

Well, I looked up and learned how to save a CDP File and Delete an asset in CM, and I did it . then turned off computer and started TRS10 up again but still can't use find object.
I wonder if I should consider trying to un-install and re-installing TRS10 ?
I'm just not sure how to do it without loosing all of my assets that I have collected.

It's not that desperate yet, and if you think about it "find object" although useful isn't a critical thing to lose.
Why don't you move the route to 2012 ?

Probably because it works best in TS10 and looks horrible in TS12, as do many routes without compatibility mode.

It shouldn't work either, but try Ctrl-F and see what happens.

Ya; I agree with you about the compatibility mode... but here is what I just tried:
step 1. went to TRS12 and opened Downtown traction company route / went to menu and selected Find Object. TA-DA -!!! works.
step 2. next I opened TRS10 and opened same route ( could have been any route ) and selected find object. the screen flickers slightly but then nothing shows up.
step 3. do the same as step 2. above except I try out the Ctrl.-F as mentioned above... same thing, a slight flicker of the screen , then nothing. ( sniff -- whimper )
and yes, I know that the find object is not a must have. but I was planning on getting chucks new version of "Erie Northern " route that he is working on and figured that when I got it, it would be a good route to play with and learn to make sessions for. And with the find object it just helps make it a little easier.

WOW ! nice picture up there... wish I knew how to do that.. I just learned how to include "Quotes" in my posts. showing a picture like that probably would have saved a few head scratchings a few posts ago.

Yes- the button is there

I couldn't have done either, worth a try though.
You could try an EDR, in cm under the file tab.

Extended database repair, it puts everything back into place. Ignore warnings at the end.

ok - ran a EDR and restarted TRS10 but still no go. I even thought about turning on and off the compatibility mode and that did nothing as well.

Well - I went ahead and removed trs10 and then re-installed it. and that seems to do the trick. and i saved a copy of my user data; but when I install the backed up user data file I get bad things happening.. like not being able to use "find object" and other stuff. But most of all I find that it some how corrupts the game files themselves. it wont even let me un-install it again ! I have to go in and remove the game files manually and then do a clean-up of my registry. So there must be something bad in the user data file that I made a copy of. ( guess I won't be using that ! ) Bottom line is I guess I'll have to start over and build up my collection again from scratch. but i'm also using TRS12, so I might just hold off with reinstalling trs10 for a while untill I find something I can't do in trs12 that I can with trs10.
