File backup help

Just bought a external hard drive. the software with it is terrible. if i would want to backup info from TRS 2006 and TC3 what files do i want to backup?

Hey Jim, if you are running XP, you don't have to install the software. I assume the external connects through USB, XP will recognize it as another drive with or without the software. I hate that crap they try to get you to install, it will try to connect to upgrade and cause all sorts of problems.
I have a Maxtor external, but did not install the BS...

Save your local folder, and your Trainzoptions files, your screenshots and any saved consists you have made.*

If you dont have a backup programme try Solways plain backup free at http://www.theabsolute.net/sware/ as it can be configured to backup only newer files so avoiding copying the lot more than once.

For keeping drives/folder parallel I use and suggest the free FileSync (Downloadable at http://www.fileware.com/index.htm). It seem to me idiot-proof (MY experience ).
