faulty or missing dependancies

Morning
I have quite a few items I have downloaded from DLS that show up RED in my rolling stock list in surveyor, they show up in DLS as faulty or missing dependancies, can any one tell me what are the implications of these faults and can I remedy them. Are they safe to use or will they corrupt my layouts etc

good morning to you to i may have the same problem as you, were when you go to put the loco on the track & nothing happnes, there is no sign of the photo eather. i dont have no downloaded locoes & it realy anoing me

Morning, which Trainz version are you using please, that will help the masses to give you a few answers.
And, when you say red, do you mean a bright red exclamation mark shows up in your CMP ?

OK, I have done a screenie to demonstrate what the newbies should look for for those of you using TRS2006 upwards......
When you have downloaded anything from the DLS using FTP helper, you need to click on 'open for edit' section, then commit each asset, if a red exclamation mark appears, the asset will not work, until you have repaired it. In CMP, click and highlight that asset, right click and a box will pop up and u need to scroll down to 'view errors' and click on it and another box pops up that says 'Results', and all those red crosses you can see means that you have an error in the config.txt and sometimes the contents of the folder, such as missing .tga files, etc. You need to manually amend / adjust / repair everything, so that all of those error messages disappear. Keep committing the asset until the red exclamation mark doesn't show anymore.
The yellow triangle item shown means that it is just a warning, and will let you ignore it to enable the asset to work properly.
