Faulty Deps

How can I fix faulty deps at once? Many of the routes I have are filled to the brim with them, so it would forever to do them one by one.

I'm not sure for the route, but I've had locos that had missing deps. I would open content manager, right click on it, select download or download this version, and it finds my missing dependencies.

Have you done a DBR or EDBR lately? Often that will result in a lot of faulties that are not actually faulty. Try a few, just right-clicking and selecting "View Errors and Warnings". If they don't actually have any, then just double-clicking them will often resolve the issue and it can go pretty quick. If they do have actual errors, there is nothing for it but to fix them one asset at a time.

Atp I'm questioning how ANYONE would have the patience to do this. Is it normal?

The way I've done it is redownloading each dependency and then submitting the edits.
That works sometimes if there was a glitch during the download or installation from disk. Sometimes though, the errors go beyond that and include missing or faulty textures, spelling errors, etc. These require a bit more work and are caused by people uploading really old assets, mostly, that passed the error-checking in the olden days but are getting caught by the net now.

With our years of experience here, we can lead you through these errors to allow you to use these assets without any issues. Over the years, a group of individuals collectively known as the Content Repair Group, has been going through thousands of assets on the Download Station (DLS) and repairing them to ensure they are error free. With the decades of Trainz assets available, they still have a long way to go and there are still old unrepaired assets still there to be downloaded. When updates are available, your repaired assets can be replaced by those after checking for asset updates that are available on the DLS.

In addition to outright errors, there are some missing dependencies that can be easily replaced such as horn sounds, engine sounds, coronas (lights), and even textures by updating the references to these things in the configuration text file, aka the config.txt file that everyone discusses. These are quick fixes that will allow a locomotive to work fine until an update is ever made available.

Actually, could I just reinstall a route and then submit edits?
I'm not sure if that will help because reinstalling the route will not download the dependencies again because in Trainz, routes and other assets reference the dependencies internally and through the config.txt file. For routes, this is an internally through the route data-files, however other assets such as a locomotive will reference dependencies such as interiors within the config.txt file.

What are the dependencies that are missing, or what is wrong with them?

To list the missing dependencies, right-click on the route and choose List dependencies. A new window will open up and whatever is used will show up there.

On the columns, right-click and add status; it'll load on the far right. Click on it and slide it to the left.
Click on it to sort the status show that anything that's missing shows dashes and the name will show unknown asset.

I highly recommend adding all the columns because that will help you sort and search a lot easier.

Highlight the missing assets.
Press CTRL+C to copy the data
Click on a new post in Missing Kuids and paste it there. We can then help you find the missing parts.

For faulty assets, right-click on one at a time and choose View Errors and warnings. A window will open up showing the errrors. Highlight the text in the window and paste it here. We can assist you with repairing the assets.

Can you help me with an ideea? Thank you

the main problem is the script error. i have trainz 22.

Is this an upload to the DLS that you are attempting?

Trainz-build numbers below 3.5 are no longer supported.
The DLS no longer allows uploads of assets with build numbers below 3.5. TRS22 uses build numbers upto and including 5.6

Required container 'thumbnails' is missing.
Thumbnail images are MANDATORY in all uploaded assets.

Missing or invalid selection for tag 'category-era' in 'scenery-trackside'
Your config.txt file has an invalid or missing "category-era" tag.

Atp I'm questioning how ANYONE would have the patience to do this. Is it normal?

I always run the rebuild database every 2 to 3 weeks even if there's nothing wrong. If something does go wrong, I run the extended database repair which normally resolves most issues

If I have any issue I can't resolve using either options, I simply contact N3V Games support for help or ask here on the forums :)

Main error is that which was not metioned: VE90: This asset has an invalid KUID user ID
vvmm can be reached on Trainz Romania Tapatalk
