Fatal texture bug stops my project!

Yesterday something happens with my route "SWE - DEN Fast Connection Coast" (an addition to the two previous maps in the serie) that usually only appears in nightmares, the complete landscape is gone! Mountains, lakes, all of it!

The map was half done (up to, and including Falkenberg, that is a about 30 km long route), when all textures outside the local sectors disappeared. That way I didn't recognize it at first and saved the faulty map in the daily backup (as a .cdp-file).

All objects are still there but on the initial base squares. If someone know how to restore the landscape, please tell me!

This is terrible when spending more than 50 hours on the map.

Unfortunately, I think Trainz 2006 is a very unstable and buggy product, though very entertaining to play and create in - when all works fine that is.;)

That's why many veteran route builders still only use TRS2004 for route building. I have invested hundreds of hours building a prototypical route in TRS2004 and would never risk all that work by using TRS2006. When my route is finished, I hope it will be compatible with TRS2006, but I won't lose any sleep over it if it only works in TRS2004.

Possible to solve

Thanks for your response!

Yes, I have heard that the Trainz 2004 version is much more stable.

I have found out that it is possible to solve my problem, though it is a very tedious procedure.

1) At the beginning I cloned the map when the landscape building was finished.

2) One can then merge that map, positioning it on one side of the faulty map (i.e. the one without the landscape, but with all objects intact).

3) Then pasting 6 sectors at a time - through the marked box selected in the tool tab - without the objects (this is what the buffer can hold at most) onto the faulty map at the corresponding positions. The cursor must be in the center of the 6 sectors when doing this.

4) After all sectors have been pasted from the merged map, that map has to be deleted through the tedious single sector method.

I haven't done this though, only experimenting with it. I will probably revert to Trainz 2004 instead on your recommendation.
