Farmer parks on rail line

just a few that spring to mind

Thick, stupid, ignorant, gawmless, dozy, half witted, cretin etc etc.
I bet his insurance company is so impressed with him, if he bothered that is.

Correct Ed, but I bet he would have had to open a gate to get that far.

Aha! You are probably correct! It's fairly impossible to tell from the video, but it does appear as if there is a bit of a straight line structure on the left, in front of the tractor.

We recently went on a walking holiday in Northumberland.
The footpath crossed the East Coast mainline (London to Edinburgh).

At each pedestrian crossing there is a phone to call the signalman before crossing. With train speeds > 100 mph there is no way the train could avoid you!

Perhaps this needs to be extended to Wales? The West coast mainline (few years ago) didn't have that system. Mind you, you still have to be bright enough to use it.

I don`t see what these farmers and construction workers. See in putting there vehicles and equipment on the tracks or crossing and thinking well it`ll be alright totally stupid. Thinking no train will come. When it`s totally dangerous and illegal. No matter how quick and time saving or convenient it might seem to park on the tracks it`s a big no. Safety first!

It might be significant that the incident happened in Wales

I wasn't someone taking a short cut over to Railworks was it?:D

What a total P***K, head so far up his own A** he thinks the world has to revolve around him. Make him pay for the damage too.

To that farmer:

If you watch the video closely enough, you will see that the tractor/trailer starts to move when the train is just about to smash into it. Perhaps he realised what was coming and thought "Doh! I'm such an idiot!" :D

Regards,

Retro.

I agree Deano5 should make him pay something. Out of his weekly/monthly salary to the railway company for the damage expenses. Bet he would think twice then! Surprised the train crew did`nt have a few words with him as well.
