Expermenting with cameras

Hi everyone,

After a test run on a built-in route that had a load of fixed cameras installed, I decided to add some to my own route. Adjustment is still a bit awkward, but I'm sure I'll get better at it with practice.

I'm in the process of uploading my first efforts to You-tube, and will add a link here when it's available.
Edit: It's now available: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRhTSPAQZGI

Anyway, I have some specific questions, not necessarily camera-related. They are things that should be easily fixable, but are really starting to annoy me because I don't know how.

1) How do I turn off the really obnoxious "crash-crash" as cars run over turnouts? This sound is totally out of place, and so loud that it drowns out all the more realistic sounds. (2.05 in video)

2) About number 1, I'm wondering if this is something to do with exceeding the posted speed limit. The only trouble is that I don't know how to get track to have a higher limit than the default 40mph, which is a bit slow for my liking. I know it's possible because other routes have higher speed limits.

3) How do I turn off the control insert (top-right corner), and the driver bar at the bottom of the screen?

4) Is there a way to avoid the turnout controls suddenly getting highlighted as the camera pans by one? I've already turned off the display using the "?" button, but they still appear from time to time, really huge in some cases. (1.44 in video)

F5 Turns off everything on screen

F6 Turns off driver bar at bottom

F7 Turns off message box lower right

F9 Turns off control box upper right beneath speed read out.

You are welcome. I don't think you can turn off the junction arrows as the camera pans though, I think it's as if you have passed your mouse cursor over them. I recall some switches that did not display the arrows before, but I am unsure how it was done or where to obtain the same.:(

The switch arrows aren't really a major issue. I think I can avoid it by raising the camera viewpoint. If not, I can set the turnout the way I want it and then delete the switch lever for the video. It's not ideal, but at least there's a work-around.

What is really annoying me is the obnoxious "crash-crash" of the wheels running over turnouts.

Yes, the junction rumble. I was always under the impression the sounds were connected to the tracks, but some were hard coded. Recently I thought I read that certain pieces of rolling stack also have track sounds attached, but I'm not sure of this method.
