The way I got around the 'which platform?' problem was to take the two station lines to a single-line junction, add a length of single line, then put a loco on the single line and tell it in AI to goto say platform 1. Presto!!

The "click clack" sound was roundly thrashed by many users who were fans of the welded rail era, and was minimized for 2006.

say it better

OK, will try. In Surveyor, place the station, then add two rail lines running side by side for a short distance. Join these two lines, making a junction, and then extend the single line a bit further. So you now have a single line becoming two, and running to the station's platforms.

On the single line, place a loco. Save the project.

Hit the "Drive Now" button at the top left of the screen. Then at the bottom of the new screen tell the loco to Drive To the station, Platform 1. The loco will take off, and stop at Platform 1. Gotcha!! The other platform must be No2.

Hope this is helpful. Cheers mate.

You can find out which is platform one and two using a very simple method in surveyor.

Place a multi platform station and open up it's properties (the question mark under objects tab). Under platform 1, set a starting number of passengers (eg. 40) and exit. Now look at your station, the platorm with 40 people would be platform one.

And I do agree the clickety clack sound is extremely pleasing, pity the took it away in TRS06. I mean, that's a large part of why I take trains, because not many other things on Earth (excluding Trainz) can produce such train sounds. And I must say, the scratching sound (when turning) is extremely good.

ok thx but how do i fix the content manager plus because when ever i click "comit" after 2 bars if crashes why?

As I recall, TRS2006's standard click clack was so agrivating that I added -disablerailjointsound to my trainzoptions.txt file to turn it off.

Is there some way to modify TRS06's settings or configuration files so that the clickety clack sounds are on all the time (while the trains are moving, that is). Some people might find it irritating, but I guess it's personal preference. Any help will be appreciated. =p

Can't help much with the CMP issue however, I don't do much custom cotent, sorry.

Speaking of Trainzoptions, can anyone post tweaks that can be added to the Trainzoptions.txt file? Explanations are welcome for the more technical stuff.

SuperFudd: There is no disablerailjointsound or anything similar to it in my 06 trainzoptions file. I'll try adding -enablerailjointsound and post back on the results.

Thanks all.

EDIT---

I'm playing around with the -autopilotsignal distance in Trainzoptions so that the AI will have a slightly longer distance to stop their trains or react to signals. Can anyone give a rough estimate how far ahead can a driver see from the cab of a standard diesel locomotive, say the Dash-9?
