Error with Fourms

didn't know where else to post/send this....

Thanks to a new post in the Chinese forum, I spotted a error. The pages for the forum specify

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" />

It should be

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />

Only with UTF-8 do international characters appear correctly. It's a detail, but that's the kind of guy I am.

I saw that post with the strange, ’non-Chinese’, characters.

I wonder if this is connected with a problem a few months back where the characters were correctly (as far as I know) appearing in Chinese.

However there were some strange things happening at that time, if I recall correctly. Members clicking on the Chinese thread, or possibly simply connecting to the page where it was listed, started to have their native tongue posts (English and other languages) appearing with Chinese characters. The only way I seemed to be able to clear it was to close the browser and clear out my cookies.

This new character problem seems to have started on the Chinese thread with posts on and after 24[SUP]th[/SUP] September 2012.

I wonder if there might have been a fix which didn’t work?
