I've currently just unpacked the simulater and runned it once. I came back and started it up again and now it keeps saying Error your computer cannot correctly connect to your trainz software or something similar to that. This is a disappointment for me because I had to wait two months and a few days to get this game. I know I will fix it today somehow or in the next week but does anybody know what to do if it doesn't work after reinstalling?

Not that I would know the answer to this but if you give details such as ...

Which version of Trainz are you running?
What are your hardware specs?
What is your OS?
Do you have the latest video drivers installed?

... then there may be others who could offer an educated guess on solving your problem

Nothing wrong with your comp, whats the O/S ,WIN 7, if so you must run trainz as admin.
Update the build number of trainz to 44088, do a search for hotfix and find a post by GPavlich, find the one you need (with your present build number) download it to desktop. Make sure you patch it to your 2010 folder, it takes a while and seems to stop at 50% leave alone and wait till its done.

I've got no idea how to patch and I don't know what you mean by build number 44088. I don't know what a OS is either. I'm clueless on the patching thing as I have never manually patched anything. I have general knowledge of how to navigate around the file folders and such. Is there a tutorial on how to patch something too? That would be helpful.

With 8GB of RAM I would guess that you are running Windows 7 the 64bit version.

The usual way to tell which build you have is start Trainz and note the number that appears in the bottom right hand corner of the start screen but since you do not seem to be able to get that far then that option is not possible.

Hmm... it suddently just started working. Now I have another problem. I don't know what to patch and how to patch.

I had this problem, when my graphics card was at a setting not catered for by 2010. I may be wrong but your setting of 1920x 1080 may be too much. The settings in my 2010 only go up to 1440x 900. Try resetting your card to this and see what happens.
Regards Bruce

EDIT:- See you have got it going, so belay my comments above. Can you go to the start panel and give us the build number in the bottom right hand corner.

Finding your OS. Click the Start icon in the lower left corner of you computer screen. In the pop up find Computer and right click it and select Properties. It will tell you what version of Windows you have.

Trainz Version. Double click the Launch TS2010 icon on your desk top. The lower right corner should show your build number.

Post your build number here and we'll tell you what SP you need, where to get it and how to install it.

If you register your copy of Trainz then that will show beside your username on the Forum and we won't have to ask what version of Trainz you have.
