Enginesounds in TS09

Hey all,

I seem to have a problem with enginesounds in TS09, they will do the first 4 normal piston strokes, then does a slowed down steam loop, then it seems to speed up. Is this right or is it a bug?

G'day,
I have the same problem..After a short while when a steam engine is accelerating the sounds become muffled and faint sounding terrible and only comes back to normal when the engine is almost stopped..

Engine sounds and engine specs for steam locos changed starting with TC3. Sounds like the loco is using an old enginesound asset. Not a bug as the change was made by design to the program but most of the old steam locos haven't been updated for it. While they still work fine in TRS4 and 6 they're kind of broken - both power output and sounds - in TS9 and 10. The old single loop that started phasing in at 12 mph (20 kph) was replaced with a number of new wav files that are selected based on drive wheel rpm's.

I'm afraid all the old steam locos - pre TC3 - will need to be updated with new steam-engine and enginesound assets compatable with the new version(s) of Trainz.

Same Here!

That happens to me too. When I drive the Flying Scottsman or Mallard, or any steam locos, it does those steam cycles and stops once going quickley.

I'll throw something in - I've noticed problems with sound synchronisation when I have changed the piston-angular-offset values in the enginespec.

I'd be interested to know if these values are different in the two enginespecs you refer to, even if just to rule it out.

regards
Charles
