Enable Traffic on roads

For a number of years I have had traffic on all my routes and now I have none. Don't ask me what happened because I have no idea. I was using Bob's 1980s Plus USA, kuid2:439337:104491:4. Since I'm 80 my excuse is that I forget how to get the traffic back into my routes. Please help this old fart.

after opening the route go to the environment tab . you will see buttons on the left of the window. the blue button(location) and press to enable traffic.
this should fix your problem.

EJB, thanks for replying but I already have that button set at enable. What I need is where do I place the kuid for 1980s Plus USA?

Hi Stouthm. I believe that would be the region tag in the config.txt for the route:

region                                  <kuid2:439337:104491:4>

Hello Forester1, I already did that and the traffic is still not showing. The kuid is not faulty so I'm at a loss as to what to try next. Thanks for replying.

Did anything happen to the list of cars in the region config.txt file?

You need to replace the old region kuid twice, otherwise you'll still be referencing the old region.

When replacing kuids, I use the search and replace function in Notepad or Notepad++. It beats searching through the massive list of kuids for the one that needs replacing in the kuid-table.

Hi John, I kind of knew that you would show up. Thanks. Here is where I am as of now. I double checked the kuid and all is good. I placed that kuid in the region line and saved. Still no traffic. Do I need to place the kuid in the kuid-file and the name in the string-file? This has me going nuts and that's a short trip.

The region kuid should go on the region tag, and also into the KUID table at the bottom.

After many different try's I finally got it FIXED. I will attempt to explain how in case others have this problem or something similar. When loading a route to either edit or run and you get the red exclamation just click on it and you will get the list of faulty assets. After 20 years at this I just learned that. I mostly use the yarn road system and a number of the yarn assets needed to be updated. There was one other faulty asset which I took care of, but I think updating the yarn assets did the trick but I'm really not sure. Anyhow, I now have my traffic back.
